ARSAC (Amazing Readers Student Advisory Committee) - Ms. Adams - Meets Fridays during lunch in the Media Center to brainstorm and implement ways to encourage students to love reading! Committee members also help plan and implement the school's Scholastic Book Fairs. "Kids have the best ideas!"
Community Service Club - Ms. Toadvine - Meets twice a month on Mondays in the Media Center until 5:15 p.m.
Crafty Knitters Club - Ms. Casale or Ms. Kuhn - Are you eager to knit, sew, crochet or just practice some sort of needlework? If you answered yes, we have the club for you! Join DMS's very own Crafty Knitters Club every Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the Culinary Arts Room 5106.
Geography Bee - Ms. Dahlberg - The school-wide Geography Bee will take place in the Fall and is held in each social studies class. Each class winner will compete against the others to claim the title of school champion. The school champion will take a test to see if they qualify to compete at the state level. The state championship will take place in April in Jacksonville, FL.
GRA15 - Ms. Adams - Meets Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays during lunch in the Media Center during October and November. Students participate in The Global Read Aloud with other students around the world. During 2015, DMS students are connecting with classrooms in California, Chicago and New Zealand to read "Fish in a Tree" by Lynda Mullay Hunt, discussing the book using technology including Edmodo, Google Classroom, Padlet, Edublogs and Skype.
National Junior Honor Society - Ms. Bernau - Meets twice a month Thursday mornings 8:30 - 9:25 a.m. in Room 6213 (Officer meetings on alternating Thursdays)

Science Fair - Ms. Wojnar - A science fair project is a great way for students to gain a strong understanding of how science relates to real-world experiences. The science fair project aligns with Next Generation Science Standards regarding the Nature of Science, as well as, Common Core Standards. School Science Fair Thursday, December 3 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center.
Student Council (Government) - Ms. Villela - Meets every other Monday 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. in Room 6100
This club is a student leadership group involved in community projects.
Tutoring/Math - Ms. Murphy - Meets Wednesday and Thursday 4:10 - 5:00 p.m. September -April
Students must be picked up not later than 5:10 p.m.
