Jason Plucker – Principal

I am honored to serve as the principal of Diplomat Middle School, a truly special, family-oriented school with a staff dedicated to supporting students, families, and our community.

First and foremost, I am a husband and proud father of four. My family inspires me daily and keeps me grounded in what matters most.

I have dedicated over 25 years to the School District of Lee County, beginning my career as a science teacher before moving into administration. For more than 15 years, I have served as an administrator, where I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible educators and staff to support student growth and success.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Beyond academics, I believe education extends far beyond the classroom—through clubs, sports, and extracurricular opportunities that help shape well-rounded young people. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf. I am grateful to lead Diplomat Middle School and to be part of a community that values connection, excellence, and opportunity for every student.

Tanya Norris - Assistant Principal
My name is Tanya Norris, and I’m proud to serve as the Assistant Principal at Diplomat Middle School—a place that has played a special role in my life and career.
I earned my degree in Education from the University of South Florida and later completed my graduate studies in Educational Leadership at Western Governors University. I began my career right here at Diplomat Middle, where I spent 18 wonderful years as a teacher. After that, I served at the district level in the Curriculum and Instruction Department, supporting schools across the county. I was thrilled to return “home” to Diplomat Middle as Assistant Principal, and I feel truly honored to serve this incredible school community.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. I believe in strong relationships, high expectations, and open communication between school and home.
On a personal note, I’ve been married for 25 years and have two daughters who are currently attending the University of Florida (Go Gators!). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and cooking. I also love being outdoors—whether it’s at the beach or in the mountains.
I’m excited for a great school year and look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s success. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always here to help.

Courtney Walsh – Assistant Principal

As Assistant Principal of Diplomat Middle School, I am proud to serve a community that values relationships, growth, and student success. With over 20 years in education, I’ve taught at both the elementary middle school levels, have served as Director of Scholarships for the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, and worked as an academic coach and testing coordinator prior to transitioning into school administration.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Gulf Coast University and a master’s in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. I hold certifications in Elementary Education, Social Sciences (middle school), Educational Leadership, and endorsements in ESOL, Reading, and Gifted. I believe in servant leadership and that every role in a school—big or small—matters in helping students thrive. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, exploring new experiences, and spending time with my husband and son, who is also a proud Diplomat Wildcat.
